Clean up your junk!
The Illegal fireworks were great in town last night. Lots of high flying shows of color and sound. The only thing that is upsetting is the trash laying around the streets. The images are not from Berkeley Springs, but could you imagine if people here were so dumb? So if you have some trash laying around from the 4th, try to keep our town beautiful a
nd clean it up.

Michael Jackson, 50, Is Dead

Investigation | 9:59 p.m. The Associated Press reports: “Los Angeles police Lt. Gregg Strenk said at a separate news conference that police robbery-homicide detectives have been ordered to investigate, which is common in a high-profile case.”
Transporting Jackson | 9:47 p.m. Around 6:45 p.m. Pacific, television news channels showed a city helicopter moving Mr. Jackson’s body to the coroner’s office. Workers placed the body, which was wrapped in a white sheet, onto a stretcher and then into a waiting van.
“Such a larger than life figure is, in the end, just a human body,” a commentator said on Fox News.
Madonna | 8:57 p.m. Commenting to People.com, a fellow pop icon, Madonna, said, “I can’t stop crying over the sad news.” She added, “I have always admired Michael Jackson. The world has lost one of the greats, but his music will live on forever! My heart goes out to his three children and other members of his family. God bless.”

4th of july SOON! Dont blow your head off!

With the 4Th right around the corner, Think about your stupid ideas before hand! Plan out that 1,000 square foot explosion that is for sure to freak out the old lady next door. Not by any means am i telling anyone its OK to do illegal things with fireworks or build your own, But there is a certain satisfaction in destroying something in seconds that takes 1 hour to build and fires a potato, Shoots flames, Blowes up in your face, And scares your dog into thinking you're Hitler.
Have fun be safe-Don't be like Don the Dummy in the Picture!
Think about it, but dont loose your head! LOL
Share your best 4Th of July experience!

Berkeley Springs News
Alton Wolfe, Jr. got 51% of the vote in a three-way race for the Paw Paw mayor’s office in the town election on Tuesday, June 2.
The election also saw three candidates tied for two council seats, but that was resolved on Monday, June 8, when one of them withdrew from consideration.
Wolfe, a Paw Paw businessman, garnered 54 votes in winning a majority of the votes against Steve Moreland, who got 35 votes, and William Hayes, Jr., who got 17.
Winning the five council seats were Susie Fletcher, with 66 votes; Jennifer Wolfe, with 62; Rosalee Newlon, with 54; and Tabby Kerns and Doreen Willis, each with 48.
In unofficial vote totals, Karen Hayes also received 48 votes, but she announced on Monday that she was withdrawing.
Hayes sent a written statement to Paw Paw Town Hall, saying: “I believe that I have the good of the community in mind as I respectfully withdraw my name from competition for a seat for the next town council. This will eliminate the ‘tie problem’ and enable the town to move forward with a newly elected slate of officers on July 1.”
The losing candidates for town council were Anna Lou Moreland, with 46 votes; Janice McConnell, with 40; and Karen Braithwaite, with 32.
Regina Brack will become Town Recorder when the new officials take over with the start of the fiscal year on July 1.
Brack received 76 votes in her unopposed run for the recorder’s post.

Summer Hail in Berkeley Springs?
Yes you heard it! Today we had a good hail storm that lasted for about 10-20 min. Crazy thunder and lightning were mixed into the storm and lasted long after the hail was gone. Did anyone get any damage from this storm? I had hail slapping on my windows like someone was throwing little rocks at it. Right before it came there was a crazy black/blue sky that came into town fast. Not long after the shy just Dumped down all over town. Looked like there would be a flash flood for a while.
